A Different View

This shot is from Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery looking east with the NOAA pier closest then Shelter Island. We love getting to go food and eating on Shelter Island and watch the boats go by.

2022 Demolition Derby

They start looking almost normal.

They don't last long. The Volvo #36 is overheating.

The Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser is just a little shorter.

This Lincoln drove for quite a while using the tire & wheel as a ski.

And the winner was a Chrysler Cordoba.

Go Live Life The Oncologist Said

We are going to the County Fair this Sunday especially to see the Firemen's Demolition Derby. What good fun!

They start all nice & shinny for round 1.

Then repaired as needed for round 2.

Then it is time to go into battle again!

Only one survives to be this years winner. Too bad it wasn't #4.

Thinking Outside The Box

M slid off the bed early this morning. I had to call 911 to get a "Lift Assist". Very upsetting. The nursing home had Hoyer Lifts. They are expensive. This one on Amazon is one of the least expensive at $599.99 and has a 450 lb capacity. I don't think it would last very long at all and we don't have the room to store it.

I am a "Car Guy" so I checked my local Harbor Freight tool company and found a 1000 lb capacity engine hoist that actually folds up for storage for $229.00 and the sling basket on ebay for $88.01. This just might work and can be stored out on the upstairs balcony under a BBQ cover.

A Day At The Car Wash

We took Grumpy in for a bath and one of the employees offered us $18,000 for our 27 year old truck. We were a little shocked. We only paid $14,000 for him new.

Oh Boy!

We are going to Disneyland in May. Everything has changed and I have enlisted a Millennial to instruct me with the needed phone app to survive and get the most out of it.

New Reality

Mage is finally out of the hospital and the nursing home. Don't get pneumonia when you have lung cancer. The governor has lifted covid mandates so things are opening up and people are venturing out of their homes. Some of them need retraining in how to behave in society. I might need to look into getting some of this to help as I volunteer at 2 museums.
