My Car Is At The Auto Museum!!!!!

American Motors produced 1512 of these in 1969. I owned one of them. What a pleasant surprise this was and good memories this brought back.

Summer Is Just Around The Corner

Time to seriously consider getting tickets to a few games. Maybe I will get a bonus from work.

Burried Treasure

The trunk of a car is bigger than most of us realize. You can pack it full of crap as we can testify. I had to unload the trunk into the back seat to access the spare tire. Then we took the car to Costco to have a new tire installed. Now this falls into the same thinking as cleaning the house just before the maid arrives, but you just can't let the guys at the shop see ALL that crap in your trunk! Here is a photo of the detritus, with the exception of the propane tanks, that was inhabiting our trunk. And think, we still had room in there to shop at Costco!

Just a Matter of Time

I just knew that they would get back at me. It was only a matter of time. I ran over a Smurf.

 

Thursday evening on our way to the Boat House restaurant, I managed to run over one of those little round metal hole covers in the road. The front tire passed just fine but when the back tire went over the cover, it was magically off to the side and in the middle of the road. CLUNK, POW! Flat tire and bent rim. Neither were salvageable.

We spent today chasing down a new wheel and then taking that and the car to Costco. It seems that when we purchased the tires there, they came with a road hazard coverage plan. $36.45 for two new tires.

See if I ever run over a Smurf again!
