Veteran's Day Boat Parade

We went down to the waterfront and watched the boat parade today. It was good to get out of the house.

Life is really hard when you are retired.

My latest addition to my fishing gear arrived. An OmniFish fish trap. I went out on the OB pier last week and the bait shop/cafe no longer sell live anchovies. However, looking down from the pier into the water, there are schools of them swimming around. Now I am going to try and catch some live bait.

Food Experiments

Looks like I am the family chef these days. M found this salad in a James Beard cookbook. It is so simple and tastes great. Only consists of five things for you to make a BLT salad. Folds & eats like a taco.

1. a plate  (lol)

2. lettuce leaf

3. thin sliced tomato

4. mayo

5. chopped cooked bacon

Going Fishing

The Ocean Beach Pier is a quarter mile long. My knees are in bad shape. Left one has had surgery and the right one needs it. I can't walk that far comfortably. Especially trying to carry or pull my fishing gear. My solution was to purchase a cart to attach to M's mobility scooter. I looked for a couple days and finally found this bicycle trailer for $99. It is going to work with my home made trailer hitch.

Gone Virtual

I missed all the faces of Comic Con this year. Hopefully this mess is over with by next July.
